Uttar Pradesh received the largest share of the advance tax devolution with ₹19,208 crore, followed by Bihar with ₹10,845 crore. Other states, including Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal, also received funds as part of the distribution.
The advance release was made to supplement the regular August 10 tax devolution process, strengthening the financial resources available to state governments.
Chief ministers, including Yogi Adityanath and Pema Khandu, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the allocation. They praised the funds for enhancing infrastructure, welfare, and cooperative federalism in their respective states.
The transfer of ₹1,09,019 crore in advance tax devolution marks a significant financial allocation to states, supporting their development and welfare-related initiatives while reinforcing cooperation between the Union Government and state administrations.
